Don't remember the specific steps. Try turning the key to the ON position and holding both the select and reset buttons.

I know it's detailed in the owner's manual

it's come on on me twice so far and all i do is turn the key to the second click right before you turn on the engine and hold down the reset and trip button at the same time for like ten seconds until it turns off then turn on the car then turn it off then turn it on again to see if it still comes on. it worked for me. if it doesnt for some reason look inyour manual.

hope this helps.

the secret is not to be the key in first. So here's the steps.
hold down reset and trip button.
While holding down buttons insert key and turn to second position.
Hold down buttons until light goes off.

Interesting to note that when I put they key in first, turned to second position and then held down the buttons that the outside tempature reading went through a sequence.
It read 1, 2, 3 THEN -3, -2, 1...and then repeated.

Thanks again.

are you sure it isn't time for service? or if you did just take it in, the mechanic probably forgot to do it himself.

Correct. Depending on what you do first, you can adjust two different things:

-Press both buttons down, turn key to II (On) position, hold for 10 seconds = reset maintenence required light

-Turn key to II (On) position, press both buttons down, hold for 10 seconds = degree adjustment for outside temp probe.

Releasing the buttons when it reads a certain number adjusts the outside temp reading by that amount. So if you held them until it scrolled to -2 and let go, your temperature reading would display 2 degrees lower than the probe measured.
