I notice this light blinking for a few seconds after starting the car up, do we have a built in service at 6000 miles? Is there anyway to decipher what service it is talkabout (number of blinks or pattern) without taking to the dealer? I won't have a chance to look at the manual until I get home tonight.

 

it's just reminding you that you are due for service...
you can reset it if you want...just hold the trip and reset button for 10seconds as you turn on the key...

 

It will blink after reset at around every 6,000 miles this is just your reminder. The service is the 7,500 mile service or 15,000-22,000 mile ect. If its not reset & you go over the specific mileage the light will remain on constant when the car is on. So untill you or the dealer reset the light it will blink for a few seconds every time you start the car to remind you that a service is do. Everything is in the owners manual about this so don't reset it untill you have the service done.

This "feature" is particularly annoying for those of us who live in areas where you follow the "severe" maintenance schedule. We have to service our cars every 3750 miles, so you always get the light on at odd intervals that have nothing to do with your service schedule.
