i've got a 99 tl and my maintenance light blinks about 5-6 times
longer than the other lights after i turn on my engine
but it does not stay on, just blinks longer even after other lights stop blinking
is this normal?

just that to tell u it is about time for maintanece

 

so what do i need to do?
i just changed the oil about 2 weeks ago
what else?
my car is still under warranty

Wanna shut the light off? In the '02 owner's manual, hold the reset / select buttons (where you can toggle your mileage / trip computer) simultaneously for 10 seconds (about) when you start your car and it should turn off.

** only shut the light off if you've already gone to get your car serviced... ** It goes on for a reason...

Looks like the MAINT REQ'D light is programmed to every 12000km based on regular maintenance intervals.... (flash 2 sec up to 9600km, 10 sec between 9600 -12000 km and staedy past 12000km). Is there a way to program this annunciator based on the heavy maintenance schedule (Every 6km)?

BTW, whatelse's required for service other than an oil change at 75k miles?

Yep just do what derrick said its just a reminder. If you don't reset it it will stay on constant untill yo do reset it. This will happen at I for get the mileage interval after it fist starts to flash. Its all in the owners manual & this is normal nothing is wrong with the car.

That sounds too hard!!

Press & hold both RESET & SELECT button and put the key in ignition(3rd position) and wait till it turns off. If you press the buttons before the igition, it'll go to outside temperature setting.
