maintanence light
i was driving today and it just came on
my oil looks about half way between the upper and lower fill lines, and my car hasnt overheated at all, i recently seafoamed my car and it was fine for 2 days after that
it still runs wonderfully, however i was curious what the light could be caused by

That light comes on every 7,500 to tell you its time for the regular mantaince on the car. It doesnt go by anything by mileage. So unless its been awhile since you had your car serviced you should be fine.

mine went of on me this morning when starting my car hah
fsstyms (sorry if i spelled it wrong), he got back to me quickly when i pm'd him the question and he said it's just a dummy light and can be reset....it is in the manual.

As for the Maint required light its in your manual on how to reset it as well.
It means nothing more than its time for a oil change (when properly reset) Its designed to come on full at 7500 miles.
With the car off,Press and hold the Trip and Reset light with 1 hand, while holding them BOTH in turn your key
to the RUN position (not start but run) and continue to hold them in till they turn off. It takes about 10 seconds.
If you turn the key and then press teh buttons in you will change the Outside Temp settings
