lower control arm quick question

i replace my drivers side lower control arm yesterday because the bushings were gone, paid 70$ for a new one with bushings from macautoparts.com, if you need one but my question is how tight, what tourque the arm should be at the mount to the car. It is on there tight and needs some good pressure to swing up and down now, is this about right? the old one just flopped to the ground when everything else was unbolted. thanks guys!

thanks! so it should have some movement or drop on its own then? its weird, it sounds like i have a noise coming from the other side of the car now, i did the drivers side and afterward the passenger is clunking a little? i will never figure these cars out!

Have you checked the sway bar endlinks?

Our cars are starting to get up there in age and miles. A LOT of these parts are really needing to be replaced and in many cases (like myself) should have been done years ago. Technically most of our suspension components with rubber bushings should be replaced every few years to keep things tight.

Should be fairly tight. Was there tension on the sway or were the control arms hanging (car jacked up?) if the later test tehm with the car sitting at ride height.

no , good idea, i just checked the endlinks while they were off the car. gave them a quick feel and they moved around pretty easy.
