Start checking basic stuff like tire pressure and air filter.

thta is extremely low MPG, damn you would think you were driving a real Hummer or something. I would check tire pressure, air filter, run some good complete fuel system cleaner(gumout regane max. complete fuel system cleaner is what I use), clean IM, TB & EGR ports, change spark plugs, etc. Are you throwing any codes if so could be a bad 02 sensor is making your car run rich accompanied by some maintenance that is overdue. 10-11 MGP shows the need for drastic measures!

I agree, 10-11 mpg is not normal. Normal range should be around 275-300 miles on a full tank at least.

Kris your TL gets unusually high gas mileage. My worst tank was just the other day, 293.3 miles from full to the gas light. I went to 325 miles and filled 14.6 gallons. 22.2mpg 100% city... guess that's not bad.

i get about 21-23mpg during the winter, 100%local. during the summer i get about 24-25mpg. which is normal for the TL..

but when i first bought my tl, used, it got like.. 18-19. definitly check your tire pressure, get a new air filter, o2 sensors might be going, spark plugs, maybe upgrade to synthetic oil, clean out the intake manifold and throttle body..

its definitly not good to be getting that low, unless youre just flooring your car all the time..

I had to be picky, but Amercier I think your car would be NBP/Ivory... I don't think Camel was available at all on any 2G.

try not to let it warm up for so long. Just a few minutes is all you need - unless it is outside with ice all over it. The worst I have ever got (just to echo everyone else) was nearly 18mpg with 100% city driving. I usually always get 20mpg with 90% city no matter the time of year

About 2 week ago I average about 380, running 87, on a full tank on a trip to Boston. I usually run 93 because I do notice a different in how my car response, but was testing out with 87 on highway. Even tested 87 in the city and I still average about 250 on a full tank in stop and go traffic Never got lower result. I believe our car should not be getting less than 250 on a fill up.
