Hi, I recently bought a new '02 TLS. I installed an AEM intake and notice there was a loud humm coming from the intake. I switched back to the stock box and the humm is still occuring. The noise is around the intake, when I installed the intake, I unhooked both the hoses as well as the hose for the anti freeze. Does anybody have any guesses as to what it is?

How loud is everybody's humm? is it noticeable if you stand next to it?

are you serious? Why is it louder on the P? What is it so loud anyways? Ive always been a honda owner, GSRs, h22 preludes, even turbo hondas and Ive never heard this before so it scared the crap out of me. If I turn my music on I dont hear it at all but if I turn it off, you can clearly hear it. I forgot to add when I put back the stock intake box, I did not put back on the intake reasonator. Does anybody know if this sound would come from the comptech box? because I would buy that instead of the AEM

The humming is completely normal. Dont worry about it. The hum was very noticeable when i had my TL with an AEM CAI.

Especially with the AEM V2, you can hear my car coming up the street becuase of the humming (I dont have an exhaust system).

i have the comptech icebox and u dont hear the hum. also i have a tl-s dont know if that matters.

Oh sweet Rajca, have you owned any other intakes? If the comptech doesnt hum then I think thats going to be my next buy besides my springs. I now know it is normal but I dont think it sounds very cool at all. Humming from a modded american v8 is bad ass, this, is not

dont know bout TL-P but the injen CAI on my TL-S makes a really noticable sound at idle

It matters because of the intake. Its not the same type of design as a CAI like AEM or Injen. It has a air box and a snout to help absorb the hum.

My K&N drop-in on my P hums and hisses like a pregnant cat on steroids - it is very loud.
