with wrong plugs and resultant carbon buildup it will really help

so my boyfriend said they're not bosch plugs that he put in but i still think replacing them can't hurt anything. The car has been running fine the past couple of days now but i am still going to replace the o2 as soon as i can afford to buy one.

you need to know exactly what plugs are in it--they should last 60kmiles or more no sweat.. if they are the correct ones!

remove 1 front and ck its maker markings and condition
Over-use of seafoam is not good for the parts--enough is enough,, and the TL has a few specifics to doing it really well for our rides

easy method: run 1 can thru just under half tank of gas to clean entire system--do that twice
Also use carb cleaner on the TB air plate inside TB assembly

have the egr ports been cleaned?--2 hour `diy` restores performance in many cases

2001 Acura TL Losing Power

I have a 2001 Acura TL that started jerking a little, now it is bogging it. It feels like it is losing power sporadically. There is no problem starting the car. It just loses power when I go to accelerate. Charging test shows its charging 14.8 and my local mechanic has a smaller scanner and no codes came up. Any suggestions?

Sounds like the symptoms of a faulty MAP sensor. As long as it doesn't misfire, you can eliminate plugs, coils and fuel injectors. I guess it may also be a faulty O2 sensor, but somebody else can chime in about that. You can find out how to diagnose these items in the TL service manual. Do a search here to find links to download it.

faulty parts usually trigger a CEL and codes
NOTE codes are CLUES not diagnosis in themself,,along with test and techs knowledge of what codes together mean what..(example multi cyl misfire often 1 bad coil)

Parts stores everywhere in the usa `except Ca` will do free code scans for you

first thing I would do: clean the egr system inside the intake manifold
it leads to so many probs-an 01 is way overdue
Also pull a spark plug or 2 to see if replaced yet? correct plugs if new?
if not--do so with the proper ngk Irids 8 bucks each

Seafoam gas tank, clean Throttle body/iacv when doing egr cleanout
