I have a 99 TL with no engine mods. I've heard about how the '00 or '01 times are faster. I'd like to race someone to see for myself... anyone up for a friendly race? i know theres a bunch of guys from Sugar Land.

Same thing goes for the Type S, now that should be a clean win over me, but i'd like to see how much difference that 35 hp really makes.

BTW, since I have both cars, I can compare... and YES, the 01 3.2 seems faster, especially when VTEC kicks in... in 99, you cant really feel the VTEC, but in 00-01, you can feel the VTEC kicks in CLEARLY! It does make a different somehow.... but one thing tho, on freeway, like from 45 or 50mph up, the 99 with 4 gears seems a little quicker, maybe cuz the gear can pull longer than a 5spd..... Off the line, both are the same until the VTEC kicks in..... =)

I have some midterms next week, so maybe after that? Danny or Houston, either one is cool. Danny might be more convenient since you live in SL also. Yo but about the racing, I wouldn't even do it if i felt it wouldn't be cool at the outcome. When I had a prelude, I gave props and respect to all prelude owners. I still do i still love preludes. 4th gen especially. Anyways, now that I got a TL, i give respect to all the TL owners, so if we race it will be totally friendly... in fact i want to have our H-town meet so we can exchange ideas and hang out like friends. I know racing brings out the competitive edge in ppl, but i hope if we do it we can race it like friends no hard feelings either way. So Danny or Houston we'll do that sometime in a couple of weeks.. Hey sure, Accord, I wanna see how good the perform anyway..... I always heard Accord are a little slower, but I always think they are almost the same motor, cant have too much different.... Hehe, I wanted to get Accord in the first place, but since I got my CL for $25500 drive out, which is the same as Accord, that's why I pick CL...

Wow, many drivers live in Sugarland, we should make a mini-Sugarland meet, chill and compare our cars.....! I am up anytime, wat about yall?

Hahaha...yeah me too man. I never really raced before...but couple of days ago I tried to race a Camaro...I knew I would be beaten but did it anyway...yep...I was beaten hehehe. It seems like my TL wasn't accelerating fast enough...he just took off. Must have been 300HP hehhe. Where are you guys going to race...is there a safe place to do it?

Cool guys! I have a crazy ass midterm next week, for those who know, its Parks class (MIS). After that, i"m free. Why don't we all just have our H-town meet (invite all TL owners that is), and then whoever wants to have friendly races, we'll do? Any other Hondas are welcome as well! I'm up for a mini Sugar Land meet too. Any ideas of a good open area? I'm thinking behind Oil Field road, I think its called Commonwealth Blvd. now... you guys know, where all those big ass farm houses are behind Sweetwater/Commonwealth??? its pretty open land. Any other suggestions are welcome of course. I just have a really bad speeding rec. so lets make sure no cops are around.

I was just curious as to if all you guys know that just cause the specs on one engine are 25 less HP then another does not mean that the cars have a good chance togther in a race. It has alot to do with the transmission and weight as well. So if some one that has an Accord V6 that is stock is gonna race someone that has a 00 TL stock and there is only a 25 HP difference the Accord stock still wouldnt be able to compete. There is an 8 tenths of a second difference between the cars....thats alot of time!!

That is equilivent to a stock TL Type-S running against a stock Z28 camaro.

Yea, we all know that.... but don't want to mention it... I mean, why TL/CL are more expensive, there gotto be a reason, plus you get wat you pay for, right? they pay less money, so 25hp less should be right too, but dun mean they are not good or anything....

sweet...I live in commonwealth so obviously I'm cool for whenever. Dude, Houston CL...you know youre welcome to come. In fact, bring both your cars so if you get beat in one, you can bust out the other, haha. I have two tests this week, both of which I have yet to study for, so next week should be good for me too.

simple, just attach a rod to one steering wheel all the way across to the other car's wheel. then whenever you turn, it will turn the other car with it.

Wow, wat a scene tonight.... I swing by Sub today, no cars there in the parking lot.... it was empty, but 3 cops cars in the middle of the parking lot..... Then i drove to SuperK, I saw many riced Integras, Civic, DelSol with my Silver CL, but I didnt see any Accord/TL/CL group at all.... this was around 11pm.... were yall there at all?

The oo'and up does feel a lot faster than the 99' TL. I own a 99'....The other day I drove a 00' as a loaner. The difference was big. The response time was improve, and in overall the car seem a lot faster. Specially when switching gears. I believe is the transmission (5 speed) and some minor ajustments.

Shall we go ahead and make this our MEET? I mean whats the difference anyway? I think all TL owners should come. I guess once we decide on time/day, we'll post a new topic declaring it as a H-town meet. So the racing will only happen for those that want to, and no there won't be money involved because then that will create problems i think. By the way, I've never raced this car but I used to race my prelude (that was 5 speed man. tho)
