Looking for PIX of tinted back + no tint fronts

Hi guys, if you got some pix of your TL w/ Tinted back and no tinting on the front, can you post them so I can take a look I'm debating whether to do the legal tinting or not do at all I don't wantta have to go through the risk of getting pulled over and having it removed if anything should happen.

Thanks !

you shouldn't get any hassles if you stay within the legal limits for tinting in your state.

If you are just going to tint the back window only and not on the doors, then you might as well not tint at all because I don't think it will look good at all.

My back window is 20% and all 4 doors are 35%. I live in the Bay Area, CA and have had my tint over 2 years, never a problem with cops.

Welp, CA law permits NO tinting in the front. I've already verified this w/ tinting shops and official CHP website -- pretty stupid but that's politics for ya. Maybe they'll change it for 2003 and I'll be able to tint without worry

I've got the CA-legal (rear, rear sides) tinting on my 99 SSM, and it's quite nice. I don't have any pictures handy, but I'll try and post some Thursday when I get my dsl back. In the meantime, search for pics from the September CL/TL meet, there were a few pics that included my car.

so for CA, you're not allowed to put any tints on the driver's and the front passenger's windows???

Here are some pics:

Windows used to be tinted all around, then wife got pulled over for it (or lack thereof) and no front plate. Had the tint removed, still had to pay a fine/fee (about $80 for tint, $10 for front plate), and was also told by the courthouse that if I were to get another ticket for tint on the same car, the fine/fee would get higher each time.

Yes, the car looked better when it was tinted all around, but my feeling is I'd rather not pay higher fees, and I don't want to give cops any reason to just pull me over. I don't dig being profile'd.

Thumbs up

Fury TL-X,

Awesome pictures.

How dark is your tint?

Just picked up my TL and wanted to tint the rear/rear windows just like yours. Jersey does NOT permit the front and it's just not worth the hassle.

Thanks.

i am getting mine tinted pretty soon as well. in VA you can only have 50% on front and 35% on the side. will you even be able to notice a 50% tint anyone with pics? what do you guys think of that frost tint? i think it looks kinda tacky but it is growing on me:p

I'm in Newport News too. True in VA you can only have 50% on front and 35% on the side but lets be realistic.

I know you have seen plenty of cars here that don't follow that rule! I have 20% all the way around and I don't get harrassed, but I know where not to drive my car. You can get away with 35% all the way around just fine, and it looks better.

Thanks. As for the tint, I don't remember the percentage rating, but there was four levels, 1 being lightest, and 4 being darkest (limo). I originally had the 2 level in the rear back, and 3 in the rear sides, and 2 in the fronts. The front tint is now off.

Legally the law can't remove the tint from your car, they can only ticket you for it. But that's just legally. When I lived out in California cop tore the tint off of my car and hauled me to jail.

Actually I made Hall Nissan pay for the tint, but they went to Willie's mobile tint by Williamsburg/N.N. airport. He tinted another car I had before, and he has all different brand/types of tint and he will go as dark as you want. His price ranges from $130 for basic to $150 for special tints like fade tint.

thats the dude i went to yesterday. he told me he would go as dark as i want. he said if it's past the legal limit he wont give you a receipt:o. i want to do this but if something goes wrong, i want to have a receipt . you are the second person that has told me about him. both of you haven't had problems so i think i will get it done there. BTW, do you go to the car show on saturdays on oyster point by video update?

Okay this is where we get getto, alright if you get 35% he will give you a receipt for the back window but that is it. If you go any darker then it's "cash and carry" in other words you pay me cash and carry your a%& on out of here. He will remeber his work though even though you don't have the receipt.

It took about an hour and a half. I recommend waiting for him so that you can watch him work his magic. He has a little sitting room with a beat up couch and a tv. If your sensative about your car though i don't recommend staying though because it is going to seem as if he is tring to take the doors off! He's a big dude so he is going to be shaking the crap out of your car and finger prints and water stains....

I edit my posts all time thats okay
