well I haven't had any transmission issues and I love my TL. I have others cars but continue to keep the tl along with adding mods too it. If you like how the new ones look get it, if you get a certified one with low miles, it should probably be under warranty regarding the tranmission so I would worry about it. Good luck

As u know the tranny which is not as bad on the 99 but all the other issues are minor including the IAC, EGR, and CD player doesn't realy play burnt cd's thats about it. I'm sure other people have different issues with their cars but i'm just telling u from my own experiences and what see people on here complain about alot. I wouldn't get a TL with over 100k miles because the extented warranty was up to 100k.

well if i do get a new TL, it will have under 70,000 miles and navi for sure. im not gonna give up my 98 that is mint with only 72,000 miles for a 99 with 100,000. they have one down here near me (99 with 74,000 for 11,900) and it looks pretty clean. no navi tho.

BTW, the 7 yr/100,000 mile warranty will soon expire for all 99s. If you can find a good one with low mileage, buy it. If I was in the market, I wouldn't buy any other year 2G TL.

No its not, unless you find a late 2003 with Navi for a good price IMO. And unless the styling isnt your thing, you might as well step up to a 2004 or newer.

i got my 99 a little over a month ago with 79,500 miles on it for $10,000... I love my car. again, the major issue with 2 gens would have to the trannies.

you cant really ruin a 2nd gen unless u slap a bunch of stickers on it and put some tin cans on the exaust... and put a bunch of blue lights in it! lol. ricer!

I have a 99TL Navi I bought used last year (Sept. 05) Had about 39,000 miles on it. Issues=and I'm kinda particular are few. Since I've owned the car, it now has 54,000 on it, I've changed the oil, Trans, fluid and lubricated the drivers side seat belt assembly to fix the known rattle. The car runs PERFECT getting between 24 and 32 MPG per tank. Everyone loves it, especially me. Most riders on the long hauls fall asleep and remark how nice a ride it is. Awesome riding car at 75-80 MPH. Engine sings like nothing I've ever driven and it's very very quiet. Acura replaced the rotors and pads for free for the previous owner at 30,000 miles. Recall had been done on the EGR valve and entry system since it was draining the battery. Considering it has 54K on it, it's going on 8 yrs. old and nothing has failed, I think that's pretty awesome. I'm happy with mine but I"m sure I'll be posting any other problems like everyone else here. Remember people are here to vent and it's usually about some problem with their car. I know other people that have 2nd gen. TL's and love em also. Have heard the comments=NICE RIDE, NICE CAR, QUIET, SOLID, WELL MADE ETC. so many times in the last 8 months from everyone else that wishes they had a TL.

most everything is small. minor things. there is nothing wrong with my car and i always find myself finding little things that bug me like the front cup holders the cd player not playing burned CD's and a few other things i love my car but there is always something that i would change. and im in the process of doing so.
