Long time reader, First time poster

Hey guys, I finally got it in me to come and post on the forum!

anyways, I finally inherited the old TL (3rd exchange of hands since new) and though i've been driving it for ages (and love every bit of it) i'm looking to do somethings to it.

So let's start with the TL, it's an 2000 3.2 in nighthawk black. it has body chips in the front bumper and a few dents in the back bumper. it also has a dent (my dad, actually willingly made, i don't know why) and it has faded paint.

phewww, anyways despite all it's problems the engine runs great and it's very near and dear to my heart. I've saved some money up and my dad offered to get the dents knocked out and replace the bumpers, I told him instead of paying some guy tons of money to install the bumpers i'd rather buy some aftermarket ones and do it myself.

so I had some questions regarding where to get started and what not.
anyone know some good front and rears and possibly sides?
I'm going to repaint the car, any color suggestions? (thinking either nighthawk black again or voltage blue from the honda paint library)
Looking for some clean (no bling) rims (silver, white[if blue painted], black[if black painted])
and I was also looking for a new headunit for the sweet sounds, I love the volume and sound of the system but I really want an audio and video gig to fill that sick double din. anyone got any suggestions?

I know this is a huge list. but if there is anyone out there that understands how much i love my dinged up tl, I know it's the members of this forum.

So any help would be great!
thanks!

Welcome to the forums. Check out the DIY thread that is stickied on top of the 2G forum. It has most of the things you want, including a list of parts at the bottom.

Front/Rear/sides go OEM lip kit front and side, OEM rear lip or Wings west rear lip.

Color suggestions? Whatever you like. your black is a good color. That blue...meh.

For the rims, check out the tires/wheels/suspension section. Lots in there, a gallery even.

Dounle-din kits for our cars arent that great. you can get one though, metra makes it. Suggestion on that if you want a double-din DVD player: Pioneer Avic-f700bt
Double-din DVD w/ navigation: Pioneer Avic-F900bt. Or whatever you want.

If you search you'll find a LOT of stuff to do on here own your own. It is recommended you search btw, posting new threads over topics with a million old threads is BAD.

those flashy bumpers are outdated....(on any car)..jus get the stock lip kit...looks nice n classy...or get the west wing a lil most flashy..but not ricey...

as for the colors...i like alllllllll black myself......stealthy lookin..thats me tho.

thanks for the replies guys,
yea i was more starting this thread to say hello to everyone and to introduce my problems

and trust me, i don't want a ricer look for my tl. but i've been looking at that same bumper for years and i just need a little change. nothing crazy but a clean finish with a LITTLE pizazz.
and yea the black is a great color, but I'm sure everyone can attest to how damn near impossible it is to keep it clean, all our cars are black and I hate taking them to the wash every week (i'm gonna have to invest in some car care products, I see a HUGE thread on it here)

and one more thing, when it comes to caliper paint, what are people's thought on green? I was going to just do red, then I saw some pics of an impreza all black with green calipers and engine cover, and being a ridiculous person it really appealed to me. just thought i'd get some opinions

with the small calipers on a TL, I would paint them black to look like brembos-
rather than a loud color that says Look at my tiny size~~~

I have a Metra double-din kit if you're interested. I mistakenly got a double-din instead of the single-din so its just laying around. PM me if interested.

goMO question,

from what I gather that's an integration kit so a double din would flush nicely with the dash right?

if so, i'm PMing now
