Tim Smith Acura in FWB sucks.
Their service dept. never picks up the phone, or returns your call when you need to leave a message with ANOTHER department that will answer calls (sales - go figure)
My car wouldnt start (it was a dead battery, but the weirdest dead battery incident in my young mechanic years). So I call RoadAssist - very nice, got the tow truck and didnt pay a cent. Only lost an hour of my time.
In the mean time, since I had an important meeting to go to in the mornging, I am calling Tim Smith to get me a loaner - anything! I needed a reliable form of transport. WEll... it was 5 when I called, service was closed. Enterprise was closed. Couldnt do anything. PLus, Acura only reimburses for a percentage of warrenty item repair rental claims. So I ask for a loaner, and I get the "Who was your sales guy, maybe he can help." I tell him an Acura is an Acura and sounds to me like you are playing favorites and not willing to help since I didn't purchase my Acura there (got it at a different lot in town). He said "No, but sales guys like to accomodate special customers, yada.. yada..."
IM will write corporate about that one.
Their service is just horrible.

One time, for the sunroof slippery adhesive application, I waited an hour and a half. 15 minutes of it was waiting for one lady to hand the other lady, on the other side of the desk, my receipt to return the keys - while she flirted with a mechanic.

Argh... not what I expected from Acura service. Honda, maybe! I got better service from FORD! ouch!

but its where you go, I guess!

TSX and Acura EL (Canada only). No preference if you bought the car there or not, just first come, first serve. They will aslo tell you that it's a $2,500 deductible. Maybe to discourage people from getting loaner cars.

I bought and service my TL-S at Downtown Acura in Toronto. Although the sales people were great, the newer sci-fi type service people they have now seems questionable. I can't seem to get decent responses of trivial minor problems. Still looking for a decent dealer alternative.

I wish I could get a TL-P, I've never driven one before. Just to see if there's really any difference.

I got a 2003 Acura TL-P two times! They were trying to hook me up with a 2004 TL or a 2004 MDX but those damn dealership supervisors can't stop driving them! Can't complain about my loaner cars though. Gary Force Acura's service is real good.

mine came from enterprise as well - '04 Envoy with 20 miles on it. took in my 03' TLS for a tenisoner recall and fixing steering wheel radio controls (volume changing stations/tracks, etc)...then said after driving it, that I need new rotors- "also will replace under warranty" - but all will be done this afternoon....hopefully I've lucked out with a great dealer

Gotta nice loaner

Took my TL-S 2002 to Fountain in Orlando for 30k service and they gave me a TSX. It was great...almost wanted to trade. I'm waiting for replacement rear door handles, so we'll see what I get next time. I didn't buy the car from them.

Currently have a Impala while my TL-S is getting a transmission transplant. Slightly bigger compared to the 02 TL-S. Always got it through Enterprise and never had to pay a cent for it. I guess I'm not picky about rentals....except this one time I got an Isuzu Trooper. Only time I got pissed because it was a gas guzzler. But I had Intrepids, Stratus, and others like it.

This is what IMO this type of crap is what distingueshes Acura from the big players like Lexus and Benz, and BMW.
I haven't heard that here in Texas. I bought my TL from a dealership about 50miles away from my crib, but I take it to a local dealer and they hook me up. They even except the freakin' coupons that the other dealership send me.

You only get a loaner based on the hours required to work on your car. I think the acura dealer i go to deems that to be 3 hours. If they need to work on your car for less than three hours then you get jack, but the dealership in Houston does offer a courtesy shuttle for you. If they work more than 3 hours, then you get the loaner.

I guess in Manhattan they can afford to be bushie as hell. But, Lexus does have the best customer service by far. And yeah, Mercedes sucks, I guess since they bought Chriysler they got lazy.
