License Plate mod

I simply turned the bracket upside down, flipped the license plate so it would be right side up, and used two heavy duty zip ties to attach it to the bar going horizontally across the bumper. I don't think it puts too much strain on that piece, and as a test afterwards, I went 170 km/h on the 407, and it didn't move.

here are the pics

Did you need to get new bolts for the license plate holder? The bolts that came with mine weren't long enough to be able to fit if I flipped the license plate over ... thats why I used metal brackets to attach the license plate holder to the car.

I have the original bolts, but once the cover is flipped upside down, then they no longer fit. I simply used 2 heavy duty zip ties to hold them through the holes, and connected it to the rod going along the bottom of the bumper.

It worked great, and looks it too!!!

I think it looks better the stock way... looks a little out of place.

That looks like it might scrape upon entering a steep driveway? Yes or no?

i would think there's more wind resistance at the top of the plate with the air dam and at the bottom that's also exposed. looks like you could scrape a speedbump too.

I don't think that it would scrape on a steep driveway, but one thing that I noticed is if I go up to a high curb, I can't go over it anymore, which pisses me off. On top of which, I'm thinking about dropping it in the next few weeks, so the combo of H&R sport springs with a very low license plate is asking for trouble. I think I'm gonna put it back to the way it looked when my dad gets back with the car!!!

More the plate higher.. The plate shouldnt go below the front skirt. Make new holes and move the plate back and higher..
