Ok. So recently I did the LED light conversion on my Dash and climate control. Today I tried to do the Blue LED mod on my dimmer switch and the Seat Warmer buttons.

So after soldering and installing the LED, I plugged in the Dimmer and turned on my lights. The dimmer and all of my lights turned on. Since Everything seemed good, I decided to plug in one of my Seat Warmer buttons.

I turned off all the lights, and then plugged in one of the seat warmer buttons. Turned on the lights of the car and then I realized that about 80% of my lights went out.

The LED lights that lit up my Speedometer, fuel gauge, and RPMs would not turn on. THe Guage that shows the Mileage of the car still worked.

THe LEDs on my climate control buttons would not turn on either. The clock and the actual Climate Display LCD LED's still worked.

The LED light on my Dimmer which was just working, was now no longer working.

SO basically... most of my LED lights went out.

SO here's my question... Does anyone have any idea what the hell happened?

 

check fuses... pray you didnt just fuck your gauge cluster...

 

Sounds like your heated seat led mod had a closed circuit (a short) and it blew the fuse that handles the small lights. Check the under-hood fuse panel and look for #20 spot. That is the small light fuse.

Recheck your work on the heated seat switch before hooking it up again...I have a feeling you have wires touching from the led.

 

^What he said, probably a blown fuse. Make sure the positive from the LED is not touching both side of the resistor somehow, maybe a little solder creeping over or something.

 

yup. OntarioTL got it right on the nose. Turned out that I accidentally bent the resistor on the seat warmer. Thus the resistor was touching both the negative and positive leads.
