I'm trying to order the led for my license plate. I know the number is 168, but I go on vled.com and there's so much to choose from! Haha can someone point me in the right direction. And if possible post pics.

do some cold cathodes instead. thats what i did for my plate and trunk - i love the look and brightness of the white light these things put out.

35 lm, which is pretty bright without going overboard. They do light up the bumper and ground with a clean white light, and look as good as the BMW and Lexus ones. Our plate lights sit horizontally, so the forward firing led's aren't quite as effective as these. Click on the reviews to see a pic of them on a CRV.

Oops, thought this was 3G, so your plate lights may sit differently!!

 

something to think about- LEDs and bright and white color you are talking about
(just saw this on cop show-reason to pull car over)

Its is ILLEGAL to have any white light showing from the rear while vehicle is in forward motion (reverse lights work in reverse only)

Other drivers may think you are a drunk coming at them on the freeway is one reason.

If the plate is lit so bright that it ~shines out the readability of the plate~ thats a problem too
Law is `readable at 50 feet` day or night

Ca residents have white lic plate which makes it easy to get in trouble with the leds `over-brightening` it
If they make a 5k or 6k led that would be fine

 

some people do all they can to angle, install plastic diffuser covers, or otherwise hinder red light/speed cameras abilty to see the plate

while others are going to a Vegas style lit up plate--here officer,,, look at meeeeeee!
