Question Leaving light on when shutting off the car?

Has anyone had any problems with leaving the lights on when you shut the car so they automatically go on and off??

Is this safe?? Or, is it too much stress on the bulbs and battery??

Hopefully there is no issue with this, afterall, what is the use of giving us this feature if we can not even use it??

There should be no problem with this. I do this sometimes when I am going in and out within a few minutes or when I'm just lazy, but usually if I know I'm not gonna go out till the next day, then I just shut my lights off.

But yea, there hasn't been any reports of anyone having problems with leaving their lights on...

I always leave my headlights on cause I know they will turn off automatically and I like to stand far away and unlock the car to see my HID'S turn on and recently I blew a bulb and I think that was why from all the on-off so I wouldn't recommend it but I have never heard of that beign the problem with HID failures so I could be wrong

This has been talked about quite a few times, if you want to search, but I haven't heard of any problems. I leave mine on over night, but if it's going to get below zero degree, I turn off the headlights and just leave the parking lights on. That may be too much stress on the battery if it's that cold.

Is this a feature we have on the 01 TL? You can leave the light switch in the "on" position and the car automatically turns them off and on? hmmm

Yes Steve its the auto -off feature on the 99 & up TL if you leave your headlights or parkinglights on after turning the car off the lights will shut off in a few mins. When you return to the car the headlights will come on after disarming the remote to open the door.

Now if we could only find a way to disable that annoying headlight "on" reminder chime that sounds when the door is open.
