Question Leather conditioner..

On saturday, i applied some Turtle Wax emerald leather treatment to my seats and it made them all nice and shiny. I was just wondering who else has applied some sort of leather treatment to their seats and how often should i apply it. I got the car in October so its probably unnecessary to do it so soon, but i figured, why wait?

Thumbs up Leather Cleaner

Murphy's Oil with warm water. I believe i'ts the best. It cleans and treats. It will leave it looking natural. Not shiny like you just used Armorall and end up looking like Vinyl.

leather

I picked up some Lexol Cleaner and Conditioner some time back and did it once (sometime in November). In a word it was GREAT, my seats were starting to look a little used. (bought car in June).

After I put the conditioner it felt smooth and soft... but not too soft and it look good too.. not shiney ... good. The best comparision I can say is ... it had the look and shine of furniture quality leather.

Prior to this I had tried Meguires ... but was not too satisfied.

Also, do we need to apply different type of cleaner/conditioner to the not-quite leather sides of the seat?

Anybody using 303? Any comments? Thanx

[ edit ] What about temperature restrictions, I thought < 50 degrees the leather wouldn't accept the conditioner? Please correct me if wrong.

Hey thankx everyone! :p I've also read that the temperature is important. The warmer the seating surface is, the better. This allows the treatment to soak in better?

I use 303. I wrote the post on the CL board. It works very well for me. My car is a garage queen, work from home, so I can't give opinions on how it holds up in the sun.

I don't think temperature matters with applying protectant or cleaner. Because our leather has a clearcoat-like coating, it doesn't absorb into the pores of the leather.

Do you use 303 on the entire seat leather and pleather? How long do you go between applications? Thanx

I do it about once every couple of months. I do the entire seat, 303 is good for everything. I also use it for the dash, doors, plastic trim.

If I could get it in a 500 gallon bucket, I'd just dunk my car in it.
