Question Lease is up...what to get next??

I have a 98 3.2TL and the lease is going to be up in about another 8 months. So what should I do, opt fot the 2002 TL/TL-S or I was thinking about looking for an older 95 Legend GS or LS Coupe?? I know the year and pricing is way different, the Legend just seems like one heck of a car no matter what the age. I am looking at paying no more than 35K no matter what I decide on getting. Any other suggestions that are not acura or honda will also be considered.

thanks,
jb

Cool

go for the TL-S...why spend 35K on a used car when you can get a brand new car.

For the money, you can't beat the TL. If you are used to a 98 TL, the 2002 is definitely a different car, yet similar in size. Don't fall into the BMW trap - you might get a 3-series with the same features as your current TL, but you will have a car the size of a civic. Same thing with the Lexus IS300 (unless you are looking for street performance). Certified Pre-Owned Acura and Lexus are good, if you find one with low mileage. I know that Lexus warranties their pre-owned for 3 years /100,000 total from the date of purchase. Not bad. I don't know if you can lease pre-owned vehicles, though (or why you would want to). For 34,500, you can buy a base MDX, if you are looking for an SUV, but I assume you are not because you came here . I just purchased the TL, and decided on this car over the Infiniti I30 (expensive maxima), Honda Accord Coupe (not as nice as the TL), and Toyota Avalon (Not enough grey hair). In the Avalon's defense, though, it is a wonderful car if you are looking for big size, nice features, and reliability (fully loaded for $32k). Unfortunately, there isn't much else out there in the $25,000 to $40,000 range in my opinion, although I am sure that others on this will have their own opinions. If you want to shell out an extra 3k over the limit of 37k, you can probably get a good deal on a BMW 5-series, but you can get more for less with the TL...

Here are my suggestions...

Used: Legend, GS 400, SC 300/400, 528i.
New: TL, MDX, 325/330, IS300, Passat.

I say look really hard for a nice GS400 in your price range.

IMO, whatever car you choose should be new.

I would go with the new TL because of reliability and it comes loaded.

Thumbs up

Thanks for all the input guys. I did find a 98 GS400 for $36.5K and the thought did cross my mind. But I really want to drive the TL-S before I jump on a GS. The MDX was also an option, I just prefer something that has performance, you know..cornering ablility at high speed without rolling. I just thought I would get some feedback so I can start testdriving some cars before it's time to give the otherone back

Sorry for the long post.

yo, Maifasio, a friend of mine leased one c320. zero down 750 a month 36 months. crazy a$$ deal. not even an AMG.

I think the GS 400 and other Lexuses are kinda ugly round cars. but very very good cars.

I would stick with acura. oh and can't go wrong with a s2k.

How come nobody has mentioned the awesome new XG300 from Hyundai!?! Or even the new Kia Optima!?! Wow. What luxury and reliability at such an affordable price! You could buy one of each for the money you have set aside!

I am of course only kidding.

Are you looking to buy or lease? If a lease, good luck cuz there are a lot to choose from. If you are going to buy, have you considered getting a car and then modding it and painting it? Imagine a yellow TL modded! Damn!
