Lease Return

I am a first time leaser. My '03 TL is due in a year, was wondering if their really get on your case when you return the car. Anything possible to do to prevent them picking on me? I have few minor, barely visible scratches. I also glued on bumper protectors, will that be a problem.
Thanks,
RRaZZoRR

I think as long as the scratch is not more than 3 inches and is not down to the metal you should be OK. I think you would have to remove the bumper guards but you can ask the inspector at the time of inspection. Just be careful and keep the milage under control. I went way over the milage and I am forced to but the car rather than take the hit.

I got it at Plaza Auto Mall in Brooklyn, NY.
Thanks doobie...I guess I have no major problem, just affraid when I'll be taking off bumper protectors, the paint will come off as well, I've seen that happen. How early can I take the car for the inpection prior to the end of lease? How far in advance can I return the car without a penalty prior to the full period completion. (Already got my eye on new RL )

I think that you have to complete the term length of the lease. Otherwise you may be looking at penalty charges. If you're going to re-lease another vehicle from them they would probably be lenient on any excess charges. I was thinking or leasing another one but I dont want to be locked in that long. Plus Id probably have to downsize to a RSX which I dont really want to do. Anyway once I buy it I can add all the mods I want. Anyway good luck....

I have leased so far: '96 supercharged Buick Riviera, '98 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP, '99 Chrysler 300M, '01 Lexus RX300, and '02 Acura TL-S.

I have returned the Riviera, the GTP, and the 300M. They had normal wear and tear with some small dings here and there. No one questioned it. Although I returned those cars with ~10K miles under the allowed mileage, that's because I lived in Yonkers and commuted to NYC by train, so there wasn't much driving. Maybe that's why the dealers closed their eyes on a few occasional dings.

Before I returned the 300M, Chrysler sent me a little package with this plastic card size of a credit card. They said "put it over a dent and if it completely covers the dent are you are OK, if the dent is bigger than this card then you have to fix it".

I think they should have reimbursed you for going under the mileage, especially that much. The dealers get you any way they can
