Cool Lease Calculator

Due to demand, (and me figuring out that I can attach a file ), I am posting my lease calculator.

It is an excel spreadsheet that will calculate lease payment based on list price, purchase price, length of lease, residual and cost of money (you enter the interest rate, it calculates the COM). It seems accurate +/- $20 or so per payment.

If you have a laptop, take this to the dealer when you are negotiating a lease. It levels the playing field.

Thumbs up re: Calculator

Hey... I know it took you a while to configure this spreadsheet and you were charging people to use it.... good move to put it on here for nothing. I think it will help a lot of people out in the long run....

Talking re: oops

oh snap... maybe it wasn't you. There was someone on here earlier this year who was charging $5 a pop to anyone who wanted it. I don't think many people paid though.... Well, either way, it's cool that you are posting this!!

I'm the guy who charges the outrageous sum of $5.00, and while I don't want to get into a fight with quazi, his spreadsheet is basically the same thing you can get on the net for free from a dozen sites.

I got so frustrated with those efforts, that I created my own.

My spreadsheet is a LOT more involved that what quazi has posted, and includes a number of additional variables that dealer's use to hide fees and charges. It took me a few days to work this up - including info that I got in bits and pieces from several dealer visits.

I've never heard a single complaint from anyone who has tossed me a fin for my sheet, I have lots of references (and at least two happy buyers here!), and I stand by my claim that if my spreadsheet doesn't save you over $500 over the course of your lease deal, I'll send your $5.00 back :-)

Oh, one other note...

If people send me their lease terms, I'll gladly show them EXACTLY how much coin the dealer made off their deal for free :-)

other lease calculator

Not to take away from quazi's lease calculator...

But there is a great lease calculator I use on the web at www.leasesource.com. Give it a try. Best I've ever seen.

Only problem with LeaseSource is the sky-high pricetag, that and they only really serve a few states. I also DLed and tried their demo and while its probably the best one I found on the net, its still too confusing for anyone who isn't familiar with lease terms.

The entire reason I made my own spreadsheet is because I couldn't find a single form or porgram on the Net that was easy to use, that would spit out the figures I'd need to show to a dealer, and which didn't cost $49, and this after literally hours of searching.

LeaseSource

LeaseSource has a free web based calculator you can use and is quite easy. Just click on the workshop link, then "run the numbers" link. Should take ya right there.

Right, but LeaseSource's online calcultor offers less info and details than quazi's does :-)
