5W50 Syntec high performance oil?

I just bought 6 bottles of 5W50 Synthetic oil form Castrol. On their website, they claimed that this oil was used in Europe for quite some time now and was just introduced to North America market. What do you guys think? Is it like a bad thing to have 50 high temperature? I drive my car extremely hard.....so I wanted the 50. I live in Canada, so the 5W is what I need for cold start.

IMHO, 50 may be too far out of spec for the engine...

but it just protects the engine, not changing anything.

Would not advise using a 5w50.

Nor Syntec as it is configured here - the Euro stuff is better.

Castrol cheapened their mix and still has the old writeup on their website. I say that makes them suspect and unfit for our precious cars.

What about Redline's 5W50? or their 15W50?

How else would you like me to inform you, personal invitation, telegram, phone call???

Also for the most part many of my other posts are very informative, but since you mention it and call so much attention to it, for the last few days I have several by you which have contained completely wrong information.

wow, I can't believe it. I am here to learn. I was going to trade in my Legend and buy a TL-S. Since my knowledge isn't very good, this is the reason why I come here and learn and perhaps get some help with my trade in. I just cannot believe a moderator is talking to people like this. That's completely fine with me. NSXNEXT seems pretty nice......

Hey you'll get as much respect from me as you show me. The first time I meet someone I always respectful; I'll give them the benefit of the doubt but once they lose it by being disrespectful, patronizing, sarcastic or whatever, they have to earn it back. Its a two way street. If you want respect, show some first.

Thank You...........Drive through.
