Leaking rack!

No, it's not about a breast augmentation gone bad.
My steering rack is starting to leak from the seal at the pinion.
I have almost 190 thou. and if I turn the wheel with the engine off I will get a leak at the rack from the pinion seal where the steering column connects.
I have added Lucas stop leak so I hope it postpones the inevitable.
Replacing the rack is a costly PIA!
Does anyone else had to deal with this?
I would really appreciate your feedback.

I know. But removing the rack is a serious pain.

Stuff that fixes leaks are just a temporary bandaid. You might be able to do the work with it in the car. If not you gotta remove it.No other way.

You can buy a lot of PS fluid with the $ it would cost for the rack fix. Live with it and refill every now and then?

Dropping the rack isn't the worst part by a long shot. Disassembling the rack, installing the seal and hoping it seats correctly is. I'd replace the rack with a used unit as a quick fix
