Probably the engine mounts. My car has done it every now and then since I bought it, although I haven't heard it in a while.
I had a friend with a mid '80s Civic (280,000 miles on that bad boy!) that made the same exact sound every time you started it, since his mounts were so worn out.

The question has been asked before in the link above. According to Jens, Acura gives credit to the engine mounts as was mentioned by cl-tl.
I've got the same noise and it has not caused any problems to date.

Also, try shutting the A/C completely off before shutting the car off. Then restart it and see if it still makes the bang. Mine does this too when my A/C is on and I traced it to the compressor starting up. It's probably a combination of the load of the compressor on the engine and its effects on the engine mounts. It won't do it if the climate control is off.

That bang or pop sound when u first start the car is from back fire back in to the air box.

I have the same "bang" at startup on my 2003 TL-S. I brought it to the acura dealer and showed them and they told me it was the hydralic motor mounts. He then brought me to a car they have on the lot and it did the same thing. My worry went away. No big deal, but I can't blame you for your concern!

But yeah my car does that sometimes as well. Seems to be related to the AC but maybe its the engine mounts as stated before.
