Post Labor costs

Just got off the phone with the guy from Dynamic Autosports (SoCal) and they said it's going to cost $175 just to lower my car!!! The other places that i have gotten quotes were like 80 bucks. what do you guys think? i do know that it's a reputable shop, should i pay the extra 80 bucks to get it installed?

The average cost of labor for lowering a car around here is between 125-150.

If it's a little more money, then I would go with a reputable place. $80 is very cheap, but then I don't know if it's very competitive in Cali...I assume yes.

Another option is to do it myself. I just got the service manual for the car and can just follow the instructions in removing the springs etc. I have all the necessary equipment, the problem is that i've never done it before. And i have to drive 400 miles like a few days after i have this done. Don't know if i trust my own handywork that much. So my options are:
1. Do it myself and save money. But having the problem of killing myself cause i did it wrong.
2. Have one of the cheaper places do it for 80 bucks and lower that chance of me getting killed.
3. Or pay the 175 and lower my chances of getting killed or having anything go wrong.

I guess i'm trying to justify spending 175 since the part was only 200 bucks. And i would have to make a decision soon cause the place is already all booked up till next week. Delima Delima Delima

I would spend the 175. If you can spend nearly 30G's on a car, then you can spare the chump change to do the mod work. Might as well do it right the first time. I would check up on the shop first to see what kind of rep they carry around.

Mine was $100, done in Sothern California also. TL is a bit hard to do since you have to take out the whole back seat.
