KYB Shocks

Anyone on the forum have experience with KYB shocks on their suspension. (The GR2, non adjustable is the one I am interested in.) I stumbled on them while doing some research on Tire Rack. It was bizzarre actually....After finding the product on the website, I wanted to do some comparison shopping. I called up some local auto part stores in the tri state area...none of the shops could find the part for an 02 TL...(actually any TL). So I wound up calling Tire Rack for the part number. They were very helpful. I then proceeded to call a shop in queens, where a buddy of mine actually bought the GR2 for an 03 Maxima. (He installed them with H&R Sports and LOVES the ride...nice and tight but cruises like OEM) Turns out...the part Tire Rack is passing for our ride is actually for the 99 Accord. I realize we share a lot of the same parts, but I am just worried about the weight of the TL causing sagging etc. Anyway..if anyone is aware of any experiences with this product, it would be extremely helpful...Thanks.

Mike

I have the FACTORY ORIGINAL KYB shocks and struts on my 94' Talon ES and they haven't shown the least bit of wear since I bought the car new. Well....not that I can tell anyway. The car has 86k miles on it. It just has the "sport" suspension and not the "Enthusiast" set up such as Eagle called it back when. It still has minimal rebound and is still rather smooth at both in city driving as well as triple digit crusing.

If I ever had to place them I would most definitley look to get the same ones it came with.

I love the KYB AGX shocks...those are really good...the only thing is....i never seen them on luxury cars...it is very good suspension for lighter sport compacts such as civics and integras....but as for luxury cars i think it isn't as good..i heard it doesn't work as well on heavier cars...but i never experienced it myself...as for the parts being the same i know wutchu mean i juss bought the H & R race springs..on the box it says Accord/TL....anyone know if the skunk 2 rear lower tie bar is the same too? i'm thinking it is because the chassis is the same but can someone confirm this?

I have the KYB GR-2 setup with H&R OE's. I first used the H&R sports set up with those shocks. I didn't like it too much, cause it seems that those shocks don't support cars with a drop of more than 2", and plus my car was too low to the ground. Especially with the Body kit. But overall some good shocks.

I was just told that if something happens to your shocks, ie... leak, bust, or fail the warranty doesn't back it up due to the drop. But overall when I had them on for those 30 days, ride was great and cornering was tight. Just was too low to the ground for me. But you are not getting the body kit so you will be cool. You will have 1 finger gap in the rear and about 2 - 2.5 finger gap in the front.

How do you compare it with the OEM drop ...as far as performance goes.

What I mean is the H&R OEs...I realize it is a lot less aggressive of a drop....so do you feel a difference between the Sports and the OE?
