...knocking like crazy.
Today I decided to sea foam. I have read and understand possibly every post ever written about it. @ the end of the foam I couldn't choke it out so I turned the key off and pulled it from the ignition. The motor still ran, knocking like crazy. I grabbed my wrench and pulled the negative battery cable (not thinking). I then had to pull the intake and choke it out by hand. It was about a solid minute of rough idle and knock with the keys on the drivers seat, and another minute before i was able to kill it. What gives? Anyone else hear of this EVER?

hm...very interesting post. i'm sorry to hear that. seafoamed worked miracles for me, and unfortunately, I can't exactly answer your question as I don't exactly have much experience with it at all. However, for me, I too had trouble smoking it out; instead i just started revving and then the smoke started spilling out! i just let it sit for a bit after, and then drove it around (most important part)...

good luck,

Sounds like you let it suck in the seafoam to fast and shut the car off to quickly afterwards. You should have let the car run for a bit. Between the heat and the vapor left in the engine the car was running off the sea foam. That knocking is bad

I would venture a guess that after reading all the foam threads you missed the newest DIY
Did you use the big vac port at the TB? Did you warm the engine with a 10-15 minute freeway cruise before seafoam
How fast did it go in- sip sip stabilze-sip sip stabilze so it takes at least 5 minutes to go in is the correct method
You are not trying to choke the engine off- who said that!!!! It does sometimes happen as you're working--- that too much gets in at once and the engine stalls- simply restart it and continue with slower application of foam. Seafoam is hi detergent oils- not gasoline!!
Continued running after ignition key off is detonation- either a s-load of carbon was in the engine or you got way too much foam in - that choke it to stall intent probably!!!
You are supposed to wait 5 to 15 minutes so the engine remains warm inside and the seafoam makes things gooey- so next you want a 4000 rpm (use ss mode on shifter) for 10 minutes- then a bunch of low rpm to 5000 rpm runs- in 2nd gear is fine- you want to be blowing exhaust pressure out the back and with it the loosened crud and munge
Failure to do this wil result in stuff resolidifying and may get stuck on the O2 sensor throwing a CEL
Go read the new DIY and see how it compares to what you did
If you used the small vac line on the fenderwell that goes to the back of the engine- thats no good
If you removed the engine cover to reach to vac line with the squeeze clamp on it- thats the right one and I would do the foam again correctly
And do the gas tank 2 oz foam per 1 gallon of gas
