I didn't want to do it but another fellow TL'er kept instigating. Maybe cuz he had his woman with him. Needless to say, I didn't beat him, but destroyed him. WOW! I didn't know all these mods made this much of a difference. We took off from a red light and by the time I hit 60 he was like 1 to 1 1/2 car length behind me and by the time I hit like 100 he was like 3 to 4 cars behind! I didn't want to do it but he insisted on a ass whoopin'!

On a real tip, I normally don't race other TL's. Shit, come to think of it, today was the first one...interesting.

Oh, I wish I had the www.acura-tl.com sticker on rear lower lip under the plate so he could have seen it cuz I know he would have checked it out. Why? Cuz right now he's probably wondering "how that TL beat me so bad" Only if I had that decal...HINT, HINT.

AC you have so many killing stories right after your new mod. Is it by your intension?

Yes and no. I like to take on the big boys (most likely a losing cause) like the Camaro's, Mustangs, etc. just to see how well I do. As far as the other guys (cars I'm pretty sure I'll destroy) like the Civic's, Accords, etc. I really don't go after them now that I have my mods...weird. I'm a pretty aggressive driver and some people take it as "man he wants to race" so sometimes I'm actually just driving my normal speed and still end up beating them. Ok, little exageration. I just drive and other guys pull next to me and we go. Now that I have mods, I try not to instigate a race cuz I don't want to draw too much attention, although I'm sure I am cuz I have loud ass exhausts now.

The day I showed up for my appointment, the damn dyno broke. They told me to come back 2 days later and when I showed up then it still wasn't fixed, sorry ass bastards...since then, I've had a flu, and now I'm on travel. One of these days I'll go back.

The point which I did not perceive as "rocket science" is that the 2000 models employ a 5-speed automatic transmission unlike the 99 which employs a 4-speed automatic....in addition to that, the 2000 models employ a free flowing intake manifold unlike the 99, in addition to a host of other intake modifications due to which the 2000 models have better low-end torque and mid-range power even though the peak HP/Torque numbers have remained the same.....from the outside, the 99 and 2000 models look alike....

SO, beating a 99 with a 2000 model is no biggie...is my point...

Ok, what is track time for 99 vs. 00 stock vs. stock. I don't think there was a noticeable time difference. If my memory serves me correct (although mags have different times on 0-60 for the TL) I think the 99 did 60mph in 7.4 sec and 1/4 in 15.4
MT has 00 TL hitting 60 at 6.7 sec yet the 1/4 was 15.2
The point I was trying to make was base on this fact and the fact that I KICKED his ass, I was shocked how much more power the mods added. I honestly think I run 1/4 mile in the mid 14's now and hit 60mph in low 6's, but will never know til I hit the track. Another point I was trying to make was "if you have stock then go get modded as you will notice noticeable power gains...don't take my word for it, go beat up on a stock TL"
