Cool Key/Remote Combo??

Is there such a thing that exists for the TL?

I'm sick of carrying both the key and a seperate remote fob and I would jump at the opportunity to have them both incorporated (ie. Mercedes, BMW). :banghead:

yeah, that would be so much nicer. I like the MB and VW keys, that flip out. The MB keys that just plug into the ignition is pretty cool too. I think in the future, every car will have the keyless card.

And it's really wierd that Honda would do it for the Accord (others?) and not the Acura line.

My girlfriend and I were at a dealership buying a CR-V for her and I was playing around with a used 03' Accord that was on the sales floor. It did indeed have a key/remote/interlock(?) key. I almost got on the phone right there to pitch one at Acura for not doing this. :ar15:

Yeah, I noticed this too (I was looking at an 03 accord before I bought my TL). I looked online recently to see if there were any "switch-blade" (like the VW keys) type keys available for the TL, and there's zip. That chip in the Acura key limits what aftermarket people can produce for us. Would someone happen to know where that chip is in our keys? Is it in the plastic "casing" at the top of the key, or what? Do you think it would be possible to buy a blank VW key, hack up an Acura key, and mount it to the spring mechanism on the VW fob? Just a thought…

I know what you mean guys, My Accord's keys are much easier to pocket then the TL but this intergrated key/fob idea is so old (my dad's old lexus had it), I'm surprise it took Honda this long to realize what the public wants.

Yeah the transponder chip is in the plastic part of the key so we can't hack the key up.

Count me in! My old '93 Lexus SC300 had a simple little button on the key and I miss it. So much nicer in the pocket.
