Hehe.. not only that... when you are at a stop, the wipers actually slow down even more, even if you leave it at intermitt(sp??)... and when you let go of brake pedal(when light turns green, or traffic starts moving), the wipers actually wipe once....

Talking about wipers, when do we actually have to change them?

I have 30 000 km already since April 01, and it start to wipe not as well as before...

I know they are speed sensitive, but didn't really notice about that! :o Well... maybe I need to drive it in the rain sometimes. (Always drive my '97 Altima and park my TL-S in the garage when rainning out.) :p :p

Change them whenever you don't think they're performing up to snuff. They're only about $15 for the pair, so don't be stingy!

Do we have to clean the windshield with a special stuff first?

Huh - what does cleaning the windshield have to do with it? When the rubber inserts are worn, replace them.

The wipers don't get brittle so much as they lose effectivity because of abrasion from dirt on windshield and blades - keeping them clean will extend life.

1) $15? You must be talking about a full blade replacement, which is unncessary and wasteful. All you need to do is replace the inserts - they cost a few $$ each set.

2) Clean the rubber every month with isopropyl alcohol, followed by 303 Protectant - they will last much longer

Really? I paid about $15 for the inserts last time I checked. Did I get duped?

Last night when we were out and about it started raining on us and on the way home I noticed that about the wipers being speed sensitive. At first I thought I was just imagining it.

Daverman:

That seems high - I get parts wholesale (25% off) and paid less than $8 for both side inserts. But that was last year so maybe Acura has raised the ante to cover all those trannies...

compensation

I guess speed sensitive wipers could be a compensation for the lack of auto headlights... but then I think my 300M had speed sensitive wipers AND auto headlights (as well as a bunch of other things)

I wish it would rain in Phoenix so that I can test this out. I never get rain.

I also wish that we had rain sensative wipers like the BMW. Don't even need to think about it

rain sensing wipers no good

I've heard from people who do have cars with rain sensing wipers saying that the "sensing" mechanism doesn't work to their liking. It's easier to control them manually.
