Keep or debadge "3.2 TL Type-S"

I recently changed the "ACURA" on the trunk to "INSPIRE". My "A" and the "3.2 TL Type-S" are still on. I did NOT want to change to the whole conversion, just wanted the words "INSPIRE" but now the "3.2 TL Type-S" looks out of place. Should I keep them or debadge them?

Just debadge the 3.2TL to make your trunk look more symmetrical.

Take it all off...if you debadge the 3.2 TL, you gotta take the Type-S off too...it looks kinda funny with just the S sitting there.

How about keep it as Acura 3.2TL Type-S? Then everyone knows you're driving a TL-S and not an Inspire which may or may not be better than a TL-S?

You people are missing the point. I did not put "INSPIRE" because I wanted the whole Japanese conversion and make my car the Honda Inspire. I changed the "ACURA" to "INSPIRE" simply because I like how the INSPIRE looks plus I like the name INSPIRE.

Reason why I did it was to be different. I figure not a lot of people would be willing to fill in the holes and repaint it. Either way, once you take out the "A", you can never put it back in...so it's a little too late for me to change my mind now is it? :p

Besides...if I ever decide to go all the way, I can take off the ACURA and be completely naked. :wow:

yeah they look good from the back, but maybe mine are diff from urs cuz theyre the same size as the stock ones, are urs full length, i think 9"? cuz after examining, u can see the bracket inside which looks kinda dumb. but if they make longer ones should i jus get those then?

Correct. But again, I did not buy it for "looks, sound, or even performance". When I was doing my research on axle backs, everyone was arguing between the Comptech's or HKS, but no-one could provide any info on the Thermal R&Ds...not even a PICTURE! So...when it came time to buy an exhaust, I got Tim's WORD (the owner and vendor of this site) that the exhaust would fit, even though no-one has ever bought it, heard it, or even seen pictures of it.

Just like the Neuspeed RACE sway bars, I beleive I was the first to buy & install the Thermals on a TL. I did it simply to be different. I know it may sound kind of odd...but I almost prefer my old 3A racing tips again...simply because it almost looks stock.

How about "TL Type-S" and removing just the "3.2". Maybe you need to do a little dremel work but I have seen it done and it looks nice.

See, now most people don't really know the difference between a TL and TL-S, so by taking off the TL-S, most think you're got just another regular old TL. Grandma has one too.

Just leave all of the badges stock. Why do you guys bother with this mod anyway? It's just silly.

If you think its silly then you probably think that any mod is silly because to be honest, any mod is unneccesary, people do it because they like to be different, because they like to make their cars more unique, etc.

I'm considering removing the Type-S The cop who pulled me over the other day ...he walks up to the car and he goes....ohh you got a Type-S eeehhh!...well then that will be $171...(big grin)have a nice day.....and he walked off......

So perhaps in some situations letting people know you have a Type-S is not such a good idea ;-)

actually. Yes, but well its complicated...I almost laughed, except I had to pay the ticket. I was doing 55 in a 35 zone -down- the back side of a 65 foot bridge coasting...It was one of those big high bridges over the intercoastal waterway. A motorcycle cop sitting behind a tree at the bottom clocked me ...yes coasting...down the bridge at 55...Oh well...

That's cheap... I hate it when cops hide behind trees and walls just to catch people.

Take a hair-dryer and simply heat up the sticky adhesive for about 5-10 minutes..then take a piece of yarn and put it behind the emblem that you're working on..then start to slowly pull the yarn towards you while holding the dryer in the other hand. Afterwards, just take some wax and go over the areas where the emblems used to be.

If it's an Inspire, shouldn't it have a Honda "H" instaed of the Acura "A" ?? Just curious.
