Kaboom! ok now what?

So this lovely winter weather has put my car out of the race. permanently. needless to say the airbags were deployed and I do not see it being worthwhile to repair as the airbags alone are like 2 thousand apiece. Front end damage is minimal considering. cracked front bumper lip. wheels are pushed back into wheel well. hood is mis aligned. car still runs. (drove back home. barely) how do I go about getting the most money for it as I can? Thanks for your help!

Sorry...

Maybe you can part it out? Maybe the seats, motor, navigation, etc...

ouch. sorry to hear.

see if you can salvage the airbags from a car that has only rear end damage at your local yard.

on another note, snow should be thrown at us in Canada, but so far we barely got any of the white stuff. I bought a brand new set of Blizzaks in preparation for this winter and i wanna test these puppies out.

Yes, if you want the "most" money. It's going to be a pain, though, IMO.

Can the car be totalled out? If so, maybe you can just give up the car and take the insurance money?

that.

get all the things you can get at a local yard.. start strippin down cars.

maybe getting a bumper and getting it painted would be cheaper in the end compared to getting a new one thats painted..

see what you need to fix before anything tho.. don't want you spending money on bumpers and airbags to find out that theres a lot worse of a problem than you thought.. haha

thats how i see it.

i figured it would b a pain but im in a pickle. as for the insurance money... wellllllll i would love to have it but, i had a minor accident last summer and my insurance company sent me a nice lil letter sayin if u get into 1 more crash wer droppin ur policy or w/e. so thats not an option unfortunetly.

this was my idea originally, but i think i might need a new dash because the passenger airbag blew out not just the rectangle but a 3 inch perimeter around that as well. my local yards are shit. during the summer i found 2 tl's out of dozens of unsuccesful trips 2 local yards. only 1 of which was even use-able. definetly gunna get it looked at though before any major decisions are made.

Make sure you get them on a little before so they have time to break in, whichs is about the first 500 miles. Brand new snow tires are extremely slippery at the beginning from the molding process. I hear they are pretty much the tires to have for winter conditions.

If you don't want to go through the insurance (which i highly recommend), part out your car as much as you can and sell your car to an auction place or junkyard. Fixing it now is pretty much pointless as it will cost just about how much the car is worth, if not more.

believe me thats really tempting as I'm 19 and in college so I'm strapped for cash to the fullest. However when I got the insurance papers in from my last lil incident, there were huge bold words at the bottom saying INSURANCE FRAUD IS PUNISHABLE UP TO 10 YEARS IN JAIL AND OR $500,000 FINE. or sumthin along those lines. that paper pretty much killed it for me. srry bro lol.
