As for a horsepower or mpg increase, I really didn't notice much. The growl coming from the engine under acceleration did seem to increase just slightly. In addition, the engine is supposed to breathe better with the K&N so that can't hurt.

At the very least it's worth the price with respect that you'll never have to buy another filter again. Considering that the OEM filter costs almost as much as what you'll pay for the K&N (I paid $45 for my K&N), it'll pay for itself eventually.

Oh god, not another K & N thread! (Groans loudly)
Bottom line:
--I get a nice growl out of the engine with it
--I am consistently getting a small increase in gas mileage
--I am redoing my test of gas mileage gains. I did a test of gas mileage when my car was newer. Now that I've got 5000 + miles on the car, and it's had its first oil change, I'm redoing the test. The ideal test is a long-distance jaunt, and I'm going to Denver next week (2600 mile round trip) for a conference and to visit my mum in Colo. Springs--will post all results in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, here's my previous results:
