Post Just the TL

I am chomping at the bit to buy a 2nd car. My lease ran out on my 4 runner a few months back, and the wife and I are down to the TL.
Were trying to save our money, to get out of our starter home here, and buy something alittle nicer, with more room for the kids.
But cars always do me in. I have had over 30 cars, and once I get one, watch out. Have to customize it to my taste.
I want to go take an S2000 for a test drive, but I know once I do, here comes the Comptech Super Charger, and on and on.. then I can kiss my new house (and the toy I really want) back further.
Like I just posted in socal28's post, I must stay focused!

Snook, You gotta stay focused! I know its not the same as an S2000 but Shoofin's Miata is really cool, if thats the type of car your looking to get. It might be cheaper.

You only live once... enjoy it while you can... by the time you'll be able to afford, comfortably, what you want you'll probably be in your 50's or 60's and than what's the point...

Why not go for a WRX or ITR? They're a lot
cheaper than the S2000 and you can mod the crap out those two cars and still keep on track for the house and your other toy!

Tim,

Is that a POST?

That's the boat my buddy has. A 42ft work of art. His has a lot more wood on it than this one.

That is one sweet ride. I can't wait to go tuna fishing this summer with him. The canyons in NJ are awesome.

Tim,
Do what's best for your family!
When you got married and have kids, you kissed your toys goodbye (unless you're are rich)! Your main focus should be your family now!
I don't have kids, wife or even a GF right now! Gotta enjoy my toys while I can!

That's going to leave a mark!!

Tim, buy the house now so you can grease the skids for the boat.
Or buy her diamonds and buy yourself the S2000!

My friend's father had a 42 Post in Huntington, LI. We used to stay on it in the summers, and we would raft up with other people on Lloyd Harbor for Memorial Day, July 4th, etc.

We would just sit out there and party.

Small toys now or big ones later: do some math and see what a car costs including mods and interest (if you finance the car), then take that figure and see what it will increase to in like 20 years invested wisely.

Your new car now may cost you your 42' boat when you retire. Remember the parable of the ant and the grasshopper?

A second car sounds good. A leisure car... a car that you drive around on the weekend... hmmm... I want one. S2000? Miata? Why not a Boxster S!?

Slowly but surely.

Serious business! When Tim gets that boat we'll go kick it hardcore! He has the biggest and best car parts site on the internet, all he needs is some advertising to really blow it up. I can imagine ACP commercials on FOX and MTV!

You'll make it. And if ya don't, you can come play on my yatch!

New house vs yatch vs S2000 has got to be such a hard decision... But I think maybe they should come in that order: New house, yatch, S2000. Just get the SC for your TL to tide you over and a nice little Prelude for the wify in the meantime.
