Just Raced a CL-S

Talking Just Raced a CL-S

Just finished and beating a CL-S with exhaust(not sure which one) and intake. Right off the line I beat the CL-S and when I was in third he caught up and then gave up. It was my first race with my 03 TL-S and I loved it.

I hope it was a friendly race!! CL people are our brothers, we shouldn't race out of machismo!!!

The TLS can beat out a CLS???? I thought the CLS had the same engine but the car was way lighter than our TLS??

Actually according to Acura, the two cars weigh almost the same. It comes down to how much the driver weighed and how good of a driver the driver was.

yah..cls and tls are brothers..sharing most of the parts...
i will never race with honda/acura cars...

CL Type S - 3510 lbs.
(3534 lbs. with Navigation System)
CL Type S (M/T) - 3446 lbs.
(3470 lbs. with Navigation System)

TL Type S - 3558 lbs. (3574 lbs. with Navigation system)

the weights are almost identical....
from what ive heard.........the cl-s first came out in 2001 and they changed gearing and other small specs for the 2002 tl type s.....then in 2003, they made the cl-s in 6-speed.......which i am sure will take our car..........but i read in motor trend that they ran 14.7..........thats the same they ran with our car

so you mean to tell me you have never raced a civic or integra? omg what do you race? lol those are the fun cars to race, esp. when there all hooked up and can actually hang with you

I weighed mine at the track, 3440 with 3/4 of gas....

Honestly I don't race them unless they are "riced out" and they are asking for it. I have yet to meet a CL-S owner that wants to race me. I did play with a CL-S once but it wasn't to race, we were just showing off a little. Nothing but love there!!

Races a TLP once...kinda

I was on my way home driving a little fast on the highway (80-85) when I passed a TLP. Well it seemed that the TL wanted to shadow me (no big whoop) but then we got off at the same exist with a big rotary ahead. The guy was still pretty close so when we hit the rotary I took off and made some distance. Nothing big just having some fun.

Basically what I wanted to say was that I'll try racing anything/anyone that's willing to as long as there is no traffic (or very, very little) and the roads are dry. As dumb as this may sound I try to minimize the risk, especially to others. Difference is that I will not be an ass to a follow Acura. I am the same with Hondas but sometimes they show me no love so I reciprocate.

i had 6 people (5 girls and my self... as well as three subs) in my tl-s and raced a CL-S (with two people)... we were at a stop light and he looked over rev'd, so i knew he wanted to race... well, i beat him off the line and was 1/2 a car length in front the whole time till we hit 75 or so... and i slowed down.... but kept going.

he might have just been a poor driver, i dont know

We may all be brothers, but when one gets besides you and tries you I do not plan on backing out. I will just go forward and do my best to beat my brother, cousin or whoever it might be.

It's all about the jump. 2 cars equal like the CL-S vs TL-S, well obviously who gets the better start will win.
