Talking just put some rims on car.

I just got some 18''s on the car I figured that I would go a bit slower, I find myself pulling more on my friend then before. I was just think it was a bad start but the thing was that I pulled a car 1/2 infront now then 2 weeks ago he was on my back bumper. I dont know my times from before but I really want to go check now. Any ideas why? I figured I would go slower. Ill post pics of the rims when I get around to it. If I am going faster im not complaining im just shocked. Thank you all.

If you are going faster, it's coz your wheel/tire package is lighter than your stock wheels/tires.

I know my 16"s will chirp pretty easily, which means power loss. So maybe the 18"s are putting the power to the ground better.

yeah but you have to remember that larger/hevier rims you loose power (its harder to start a larger/heavier object). Just because the 18s aren't chirping doesn't mean it's putting power down better.

BTW: you still in school? if so where?

Its all about traction off the line, i run faster times with my 18's than my stock because my 18s dont peel out as much on the line. It gives a more responsive take off thats y u jump on your friend.

Actually, it depends more heavily on the type of tires. I'm guessing that you most likely got high performance tires with your 18"s.

In fact, smaller wheels provide better traction because that means you will have a taller sidewall providing flexibility off the line, therefore letting the tread grab the pavement better. That's why they don't make hardcore slicks in low-profile, and that's why dragsters don't run big-ass wheels and low-profile tires. You can actually see the sidewall rippling on a dragster, which means less spin, giving you better traction.

I'm usually into 5 spoke rims but I like those, nice and clean. It looks like 18"s are the perfect size for our cars.

Konig Tantrums? Looks damn nice. I love it.

It's one of the top possible choices on my wheels list, and until now I hadn't seen Tantrums on a TL. Thanks for that. I really like how it looks on our cars.

definitely needs the kit and some exhaust tips would be nice too. Nice rims, I'm just not too fond of the colored wheels.
