Just got new rubber

I just acquired some new tires yesterday. Went with the new Yokohama Avid H4S. What a huge difference from my original Mich MXV4s with 94,000 KMs. It was raining this morning and they gripped very well in straight line and cornering situations. On the highway in dry pavement they were very quiet, even over expansion joints. I like the look of the tread pattern and the directional arrows make them look like a performance tire even though they are all season.
The price was right as well, only $130 (CDN, complete, not including tax) each from Tire Depot here in the GTA. I had to wait about 10 days for them to come in and they called me when they arrived and provided quick professional service. Active Green and Ross wanted $155!
Anyway, next project is to do my brakes which are also original, backs are almost down to nothing. I think I will just replace the parts instead of turning down the rotors - any recommendations for parts here in west Toronto or Miss'ga would be appreciated.

I got all four rotors and pads from STERN ACURA in Aurora for 600 I think.

Are you looking to a) put them on your self
b) get stock rotors to put back in, (you can't machine slotted rotors so if I get another 100k out of these rotors, like the first set, I have no complaints, untill I get rims and want biga$$ calipers and rotors IMO).

Yes, I would do it myself, I've done previous cars. Here is a breakdown of a couple prices I've gotten for rear brake parts so far:
Part Acura Dealer(OE) Napa Parts
Rotor $104 ea $21 ea (premium brand)
Pads $ 74 $71(ceramic)

I guess Napa prices will be hard to beat. I'm not going to spend the $ on cross drilled because I will probably be getting rid of the car in the near future.

Hey johnjohnk...

How in the world did you get 94000km out of your tires?! I have kept the pressures in the mid-upper 30s (psi), rotated regularly ... yet at 53000km, I'm down to about 2-3mm left before I hit the tread bars. WOW ... you must be super-easy on your tires. I was seriously contemplating these Yoks on the car but opted to get snows for winter (no more goofing around with all-seasons -- even in Windsor!) Toyo Garit HT probably this Oct 2004.

I got rid of my stock tires at about 85k km, and I don't push them hard so 94k is possible. But at around 85k I could feel my tires are not gripping at all in wet so I dumped them before last winter
