I've been thinking about maybe coming up with some packages for a group buy for led tailights and/or instrument cluster gauges (if the new leds I ordered work).

I spoke to Astro about becoming a vendor for a bit to facilitate this. I'm still in the thinking stages for now, especially the gauges as its a little complicated to make a package, but I think I can do it.

I wont list prices as I'm not done discussing this with Astro, this is just a feeler for now if there is enough interest or not. If there isn't, I wont put anymore effort into it.
Since these mods are hand made, I will only be able to make a few packages at a time.

I would definitely be interested in the kit for the cluster. Ever since you did it the first time, I fell in love and want my gauges to look like your avatar.

For the led tailights...remember this is something you mod with your original tails...with the amber or not it really doesnt matter. It will co-exist with your harness. The hardest part would be to separate your lens from the frame of the tailight. Also you would have to purchase an electronic flasher relay as well (about 20 bucks).
For the gauges, the hardest part will be to remove the blue filter off the gauges...TL-S gauges will be most difficult, but can be done with care.

I thought about doing these packages up as I know some are weary about soldering and such.

 

Yea, I would love a plug and play kit for the gauges with instructions on how to get everything replaced and getting the blue filters off.

 

Well once I get the new leds, I'm going to test to see if its worth it and make a prototype for a plug and play version. And of course I will include instructions.

There wont be any soldering needed so far that my idea entails. But there will be some dismantelling for installation for both tails or guages.

I want those gauges Now!! i've been thinking about getting led's for my dash and gauges

 

for the gauges is this gonna be a kit that includes all the stuff to make exactly how yours is right now.....or are you gonna make some different options....like way back when you were thinking about what colors to use for the cluster....

 

I haven't fully decided what I'm going to include besides the leds for the needles and gauges. I think the colour filters can be included as well maybe in different colours (red or blue). I'm trying to keep the cost down enough that most members wont mind paying.
For now, I'm just seeing if there is enough interest. Details will be worked out eventually.
Also I need to create a prototype so the leds for the needles will be easier to install instead of my own custom installs. So I guess you can say this could be up to version 3.2

well have you thought about two types of packages one thats just the leds and one that includes some filters, or maybe filters of the persons choice.....i want a set of gauges.....but i would want to have a setup like yours with multiple colors but i would like to have more blue than just the sticks you did.....

 

I'm not too concerned in the colour arrangement at the moment. I'm sure that wont be an issue anyways. I have to make a prototype once the new leds arrive to see whether this is feasable.

I recieved my package of LEDs today. I played around with them a little today....the good news is that they will most likely work for the gauge cluster. So I have to make a prototype and revisit with Astro about selling them.

I think I will try to make a batch of 20. Maybe more if there is more interests.

Now as for the tails.....that will come after the gauge cluster. One thing at a time.
