I paid $700 for the alarm and installation when it first came out. I always feel safe about my ride Sometimes friends will come over and make my safty alarm go off while i'm inside. A couple times I jumped over my patio with a golf club to see my friends trying to get my attention

I still wanted to hit them with the golf club LOL!!
Luxury cars should come with a pager alarm from the factory!!

I paid $400 for the whole alarm and $300 for installation. Installation took around 2 1/2 hours.

its a good two hours of work,,,depends on the car and how hard it is to get access to the wires under the dash and depending on what options u want like remote start , proximity detector , additional led lights that adds time to the installation ....its not as hard as installing an alpine 8080 thats for damm sure . I hate doin security work its not my forte .

Not that it would be of any good to you, but if you were up in Sacto my bro could do it--he sells and installs Compustars. Just ask vperkins--my bro did his car and from what I've read, he hasn't complained about the work.

VPerkins in the house! I love my CompuStar alarm! Works great, no complaints! It's got lots of functions and the remote start comes in handy when it's too hot or too cold outside and I want the inside of my car cooled off or heated up!

Later,

Nope, but I would imagine that if the Compustar had enough additional channels and accessory outputs it could be possible to wire them to the memory seat module. Not saying that it can be done but if it can it would have to be a somewhat complex mod, like making an aftermarket alarm make the moonroof close completely (need a timer module, among other things to make it close correctly with aftermarket alarm).

Nope. But like Tdoh said, it might be able to be done if you've got the patience to figure it out.

Wow, that was back in October... I think it was about $700.00 including the installation. I don't have a breakdown of parts vs. labor. And, as far as your questions... ask away!

First off, only NSX Pilot may have any installation experience... so I can't help ya there. Second, I didn't get to open the package -- but the one I have, the 2000AS, looks like it came with: 1 key fob two-way control unit; 1 "page the owner" device (placed on the lower, left windshield); 1 user's manual; and a 2-stage shock sensor. Not to mention the remote starter and the alarm "brains." Don't know how the engine cut-off works.

Hope that helps.

V.

(Or you can checkout the Compustar.org website again. )

If u never installed an alarm b4 i suggest u just pay someone who has...... they know tricks that even the designers prolly dont list ..besides theres alot of electronics under there and im sure u dont wanna go messing around ....if ur gonna attemp it the starter wire is usally the large guage wire under the dash,,,the largest one u can find and u break that with a 20A relay.
