J series swaps into Civics/Integras

So I picked up Honda Tuning and there is a nice lengthy article on swapping in a J series motor from Odysseys, Accords, TL, CL, MDX into crappy Civics/Integras..

A company called API is making kits for this to be done. It's fairly easy to do and they go on saying how right now the only harness is available for the manual trans from the CL/TL but will be coming out with one for the auto's as well.

Biggest problem is hood clearance. If this takes off and is cheap (which they say is much cheaper than a K swap) I'm worried that our TL's will end up like the Intregra GSR/ ITR as far as theft. Our heads/cams/IM from the Type S bolts up to the other J series motors for increased performance.

i saw that dont four years ago one of th eg nuts (92-95 civics) around here he cramed a 3.0 out of a 98 cl in a 93 dx that car was sick it was an auto not manual it ran low 9's in the eighth stock with headers and cai i myself have an 92 eg thought about it once but 4 banger turbo is way better i dont think it will catch on plus that set up adds a lot off wait to a civic my turbo and all the goodies dont add up to the wait of a 3.2 and tranny but it is cool

you can pull a j series out the salvage yard for 200 bucks

if there is an easy way to do it, it will be done.. most ricers dont do motor swaps..
most of the swaps are for real tuners.. and even if they are civics, tegs, accords etc: i can respect putting money into a motor.. as long as you leave out the body kits and airplane wings...

Yep. I love it. I have a friend who is swapping my old motor into his integra and boosting. Should be lovely.

Hasport makes a kit and they're are already a few videos up of Tim and his EK.

Bigger motors in smaller cars has been popular forever...
I've seen a Northstar V8 stuffed into a Mk1 MR2, and it is driveable, steering at WOT may be a bit of a problem! Check it out...

oops can't get the link to work on here. There's a hyphen in the address maybe messing it up. Oh well here's the url typed in so you can see what it is. Copy, paste, and delete the two quotation marks, if you wanna check it out. Sorry couldnt get it to work like normal.

who knows they might start making more performance parts for our cars. Since our engines are going on civics/integras.

all they can make is internals now. diff intake design between us and the civics layout, and the headers are the same. and their are options for that already.
