I had 80k on the stockers when I put in the new ones...my mileage hasnt really changed at all with any of my mods, no noticable speed performance but there was a difference with smoother startup, idle and overall engine performance

Ebay actually - for like $6/plug or so, and yes I put them in myself - very easy.

i have platinum plus4. my idle is very quiet and when starting up the engine, it starts really quick. when i just leave it on idle it sounds like the car's not even running. im so happy i got rid of those stock plugs.

oyeah, but i didnt notice anything with the gas mileage or the car's performance. no gains in acceleration or whatever, all it did was make the engine alot smoother during idle or when just cruising..

Just replaced my plugs a couple of week ago with the Denso Iridiums IK20 plugs.

Got them off ebay for ~$45. No noticeable change in mileage or performance.

i got a smoother idle but thats because i replace the originals at 115k. the densos arent in good shape any more, rough idle again and way past their life expectancy. im going to NGK iridiums

hey guys, you noticed the smoother idle and quiter engine right away but the acura dealership also recommends resetting the computer in the car after doing plugs so it recognizes the upgrade,, do this by unplugging the negative battery cable for at l;east 15 minutes then put it back, the on board computer will go through a system check and recognize it, i put new plugs in and noticed the smoother idle and start up right away too but once i heard you had to reset the computr for the rest i did notice some gains in fuel mileage and wayyyy smoother acceleration. the computer just needs to pick up the new plugs

this is from an ebay description from a seller:

NGK IRIDIUM IX SPARK PLUGS Honda Accord V6 Acura MDX TL
One SET of 6 NGK Iridium IX spark plugs. If you want 6 spark plugs, please click "Buy Now" only once. These are stock # 2477, part # ZFR5FIX-11

is this the right plugs for my 2000?

theres another buyer down the list, they're selling for 40$ buy it now. but description says its only for acura TL. ... are both the same??

use search for a thread i started about april-july 2004 and it has the DIY...very easy
MAKE SURE:
Engine's cold
Do 1 spark at a time
you have the right plugs and have the same size

^^my friend got wrong sized plugs (bigger), did the front 3 at the same time while the engine was hot and it cost him $2700 to get a new head @ the misubitchi dealer (3000gt) THE MOST EXPENSIVE PLUGS IN HISTORY!

Can anyone confirm this? Does this only apply to acura TL?

i just installed this today. like everybody said, the upper left corner one is a bitch to get out. but luckily i had a tool called, "swivle spark head head remover" this tool made everything so much easier. btw, theres a noticable difference in idle/acceleration. drive much smoother now..

FYI: the tool i used was so easy to use and i recommend it to everyone who will change their plugs.. it fits perfectlky into that tough spot. it's only $5 at autozone. i bought it at the last minute to change the upper left corner one. only if i bought it earlier, i would of been done in about 15-20 minutes flat.
