iPod Intergration Confusion

Hello all, this is my first post. I know there are threads on the aftermarket installation of iPod/MP3 adapters already posted but my question is very specific and too the point and not directly addressed in the other posts.

Below is a pic of a OEM stereo from an 03 TL (not Type-S but doubt it matters for the 03 TL OEM radio)
There are a total of 4 connections.
One on the lower right is for the power, control and speakers.... One on lower left is for in-dash 6-cd changer and of coarse the round hole on the far right is for the antenna.

What is the one on the top left for ???
Port for additional external cd changer ??

I want to integrate my Ipod into my 03 TL via the cd changer but do not want to lose the ability to play cd's via the in-dash unit at the same time. (I know, I know ....)

So is this an extra external cd changer port that will allow me to have the best of both ?

Thank you in advance. This forum has a wealth of knowledge and has learned me a lot.

Buy a USA spec or any other iPod interface. You will not be able to mess it up. It can only plug one place so it's very easy.

I didn't have to take out the whole headunit when I installed my interface, so I wouldn't know which one to plug into, but as MilwaukeeDave said, you won't be able to mess up, unless you buy the wrong car specific plug..

There's not much to help u with bro. Buy the interface and plug it in. You won't get it wrong because it can only go one place. Don't need an expert. If its important for you to know then the port furthest left in your pic will be your target but like I said u won't mess it up.

The farthest left is a empty port which means having both the ipod and and cd changer operational at the same time is possible if this rings true. I am shocked no one else knew this. Thank you Dave!

Yes, if you have an external cd changer in the trunk it will remain operational.
