Ipod and external screen

This may be wishful thinking, but I figured if it can be done, someone out here would know how. I want to hook up a video ipod in my car. I like the idea of mounting hidden out of sight, and having an external display mounted somewhere in sight. Basically like the harmon kardon ipod thing. I don't want to go through fm transmitter though. Is there anyway to have a setup, possible using the harmon kardon, but hardwire it to our stock headunits?

Thanks

i think if you get this http://www.diceelectronics.com/ipod_connections.htm
and get the tvandnav2go converte r here https://acurazine.com/forums/sponsored-sales-group-buys-10/combined-acurazine-g35driver-tvandnav2go-group-buy-350632/

that should get you ipod video on teh nav screen then all you have to do is pipe in the audio, probably through an aux input (bliztech adapter maybe) or possibly an ipod integration piece. Dice has a whole line of stuff that might make it possible along with others

http://www.diceelectronics.com/ipod_integration.htm

i know there are other adapters out there but i haven't really looked into them since i have an aftermarket head unit.

that is their honda install manual gives u some ideas how to do what you want i think

I have it on mine. I used the video/audio rca cable for the ipod and have it plugged into my system (aftermarket though) but you could do the same with the above converter. then use blitsafe rca adapter for the audio

Well my setup is stock HU and stock navi screen, and I do have the blitzsafe ipod adapter. I do want to do the nav to video setup, but then that would ruin my ipod connection then too right? I'd love to be able to control the ipod through the navi screen, but thats just wishful thinking! Maybe one day!

Although this option may be a little more expensive then what u were looking for it is the best way to use an ipod on an OEM screen:
- Alpine VPA-B222 Vhub-Pro (takes the inputs from your alpine ipod fullspeed cable)
- KCE-415I (Ipod fullspeed cable + 5gen video input)
- NAV-TV Honda/Acura interface (which u already have)
- USAspec, Soundgate, blitzsafe, aux input

With this option ud get ipod audio and video on ur screen without having to see or touch ur ipod. U'd also be able to search and see all ur playlist, album, artist, ect information on ur stock nav screen just like u would with an aftermarket HU (with out having to change out ur stock 1.) Not to mention the fact that any and all alpine AI options will be plug and play for u at that point, ie, SAT radio, HD radio, BT phone kit, and much more.

Now Keep in mind that this system would cost a pretty penny and may be more for the person with a new Range or BMW that has no other good option. In your case the best road might be to just buck up and change ur HU.
