iPhone Car Mount

I've used several different car mounts for my iPhone 6, but they have always just been in awkward spots. I've looked into getting some different ones (air vent clips or suction cup mounts) but I really want some opinions.

What car mounts are other 2nd gen owners using and where is the best spot to mount? Just curious because our dashboard lines and air vent clearance is different than other vehicles.

I use these Steelie - The World's Greatest Mobile Device Holder. They work pretty well if you don't mind a steel ball sticking off your dash and another piece on your phone. The only issue ive had is the rubber piece wearing on the phone side. If you think your interested ill post a pic after work of where mine is mounted.

i'm assuming this wouldn't work with a case on the iPhone?

I have it on my case (iphone 6). But the first time I used one of these I cut a hole in the back of my case to tuck it in a little bit. But they work either way.

Do you have a photo of this in your car?

I would never put that plate on the back of my phone, but I might be ok with it inside of my case. Does the magnet still work through a case I wonder...
