Interesting tidbits
I was talking to a couple of CHP officers the other night over at In -n- Out and learned some interesting stuff, which some of you guys may already know about:
--You guys definitely know this, but when it comes to colored exterior bulbs, the only colors allowed on the front of a vehicle are white (actually yellowish--I'm referring to headlight color) and amber; while in the rear the colors can only be red, amber and white (white can be lit only when car is moving in reverse and not at any other time).
--Speaking of blue, supposedly the only vehicles that can display blue lights are LEO vehicles because it indicates that the person operating the vehicle is armed. Now, I've seen semis with blue side marker bulbs--maybe some of these truck drivers are armed?
Could very well be...
--As far as tinting front door windows darker than allowed, LEOs will more or less not make a big deal about it. Their main issue is not so much whether they can see you but whether they can clearly see your hands. Keep that in mind next time you wonder why you think you're being picked on for having illegally tinted front door windows.
Keep in mind that the above relates to California; don't know whether it's the same in other states but I would imagine that at least the basic premise would probably hold true. Hope these pointers help...

Simple--they're cops!!!
I know what you mean, though; in all fairness, most cops who drive that fast when not going after someone can do so more safely at 90 mph than some of those Mario Andretti-wannabes out there going 75 mph...

What about when they don't use blinkers, do a rolling "California stop", turn right onto a multi-lane road and go into the far lane, run red lights, speed in the city (where a kid could run out real fast), ... I know most cops are good, but... the rest suck!
I would like to know how many cops have gotten their picture taken by traffic cameras, and what happens to them.
