I had a friend who drove a Saab 9-3 through a puddle and the engine died - nice $1,800 repair and the engine has never run the same since. Amazing for a car that's supposed to be designed for winter driving. Makes you wonder why they engineer these intakes so low to the ground!

Heard BMW 5-Series have very low intake opening, too. During rain season, many roads are flooded in Taiwan, and many 5-Series owners ran through the water, sucked up the water into engine... the WHAM... got stuck... $10,000 repair...

OUCH...

Especially the M5. I heard when there was flooding in Texas many were totaled because after the water reached more then foot deep the cars weren't drivable because of the factory style CAI. That must have been horrible, not being able to move your 90,000 car and just watching it fill up with water
