Got my aem caintake today and installed it with my uncle. No pics cause i can't find the charger for my camera, and didn't want to wait to install it. Not much to see anyways. Wasn't that hard, one of the tubes was hard to slip off. The hardest part was that the intake was missing a rubber and bolt thing (only had 1), so we had to manufacture our own out of the oem stuff and a screw. holds it in place fine though, just made it take 30 mins more. once it was in, i took it for a run - first thing i noticed was the hissing, but that wasn't too bad. the sound is better too, more so when you really do some stomping. its got a nice 3500 rpm sound too though. as for hp gains, i felt a little bit more power, but not that much. overall a good choice. now i have to decide between the tails or saving for rims.

 

You should lower it first. If it HAS to be between tails and rims, you should do the tails first.

 

Can't lower - but i thought the rims would make more of a difference. Tires already paid for, so its between 330 bucks or 800.

Also, anyone know what kind of bulb to get if you wanted white blinkers? i saw some really bright ones today and thought they'd be cool (if i got clear tails that is)

 

It's gonna look WACK if you go with larger rims and don't lower it, IMO!

 

Someone tell me this, does a TL really soud good with an intake. Does it sound like a V4 civic/integra or is it a big difference? My friend today was showing off his now intake he put in on his I30. I thought it sounded sort of ****ty. Maybe you get **** sound from those **** nissans .

don - yea, that's what i heard, but even with 17's? is that what stock tls has? anyone have a pic of that? 17's not lowered on a 2000?

acuraracer - yea, i really do like the sound better. i wish maybe a little louder, but then that might make it a little too ricey. so, yes, i def like this one.
