I'm convinced that this is my next mod. I just need to be sure if someone can explaine the difference between the "AEM COLD AIR INTAKE" and the "AEM SHORT RAM INTAKE" ???

I have little experience with engine modifications and I have seen many pics up in the site with the short and the long but whats the overall difference?

the Short Ram is only at ur engine bay area and will take in hot air from whatever's under the hood whereas CAI goes all the way to the bottom which takes in cold air from the ground.

 

So cold air is obviously better?

 

Yes...the colder the air the better it is...

 

The colder the better the oxygen is. Car breathes better with cold air.

 

Personally, i would go with the short ram because it is easier to reach and clean the intake filter. Also, i plan on cutting out my fake foglight holes and putting mesh over it so that it will be sort of like ram air. I know some people have already done this and they say that it seems to help!

 

IMO, go for the AEM CAI. You can really feel the difference!

 

I'm difenitly going with the AEM Cold Air intake....3 of us here in Miami are ordering it next just getting quotes from several speed shops to see who gives us the best group sale.

I just wasn't 100% sure on what the technical differences were from the short ram and the long intake. Thanks for all the clarifications guys...

 

I am also getting cold air intake so if you can post where you are getting it from I would appreciate it and if I can help with the price if they give you a better deal on 4 you can count me in.
