Don't know about TL, but I pay $840 a year for a 2003 TLS with State Farm, $500 deductable, full coverage (liability, collision, & comprehensive), multi car discount, homeowners discount.

That's pretty cheap.

Just got a quote for my 2000TL, on my mom's policy, she has the auto/home insurance combo too. Full coverage $1500/year with $500 deductible. This is thru metlife.

Does anyone know of any other insurance companies that are cheaper in NJ?

New Jersey Manufacturer's Insurance

VTEC11,

Try New Jersey Manufactuer's Insurance. NJ is one of the worst states in the country. I used to pay $3000 a year on my 2001 TL, but when I switched to NJ Manufacturer's, it dropped to $1200 a year. I admit I have no speeding tickets and no accidents, but it seems to be the way to go. One catch - you have to work for a company that has manufacturing facilities. Otherwise, you cannot use them. Their website is:

http://www.njm.com/

Good luck!

i think at the time i was inquiring, the tls was actually cheaper insurance for me (not by anything mildly substantial) but if you are asking the difference i think it might be somewhat negligable.

Well, does your company manufactuer anything? Probably the easiest way is to call them up and see if you are on their list. My company on its internal website mentions we have factories in NJ and qualify as such. There is a five character code that goes with your company if they are part of NJ Manufactuers. Good luck with it, hope it works out for you - let me know if I can provide more information.

That's about what I'm paying ($818) through Nationwide.

No offense but we have State Farm for our house insurance but there's some major things going on with them that will result in them not paying a claim (i.e. - If a tornado hits your house there has to be 1,500 claims through State Farm for the same storm. No kidding.) Yep, were droppin' them and looking elsewere.

Yea, I know

Yeah, mine's up there too. I pay about $2600 a year under USAA with a $250 deductible (no accidents and 1 ticket). I turn 25 in under a year and they quoted me (barring an accident or ticket) it would drop to about $1500 a year. Yeah, that $220 a month really bites into the wallet -- I can either get married or wait until my birthday... hmmm...

USAA is usually pretty good. I'm paying about 3100/yr including homeowners but I have a bad record and also an SR-? from DMV that I'm trying to fix.

Can't make a comparison, but I do not find my TL-S rates to be any worse than other vehicles I've owned (past or present).

I had a 99 tl-p, and bought a 03 tl-s almost two years ago now, my insurance only went up about $100.00 bucks a year to around $1100.00 for full coverage and rental car covarage added. Wawanessa Insurance...and i live in Los Angeles County. I am glad i don't live in NJ from the other posts.
