Angry Instrument panel scratched

When I finished cleaning the interior I noticed the instrument
cluster lenses to have swirl marks in the clear plastic. I know
this stuff is fragile but what the hell? How do you fix this?

thas really f-ed up too...when i first bought my car...i found out its a dust magnet...took a napkin from mickeyDeez and wiped it off...noticed swirl marks...the napkin was so coarse that it scratched the hell out of all my guages...there are ways to fix it, go to a aquarium shop and buy plexiglass polish in a spray can...it will fix it 90 percent...or buy a new lense and dont repeat your mistake...Shyne

I remember the first day when I bought my car I was taking my time, choosing the best one on the lot... and that was when I realize that all NEW t ls had those swirl marks(just not as much). I personally thought it was bull****.

I have never in my life, seen any plastic lenses scratch more easily than the ones covering our gauges.

This is repairable. Go to any good auto parts store and look for Meguires little (maybe 6 or 8 oz. size) bottles that say Plastic Polish and or Plastic Cleaner/ Polish. The bottle is either white or grey, I can't remember. The polish will actually remove the scratches by removing a small amount of material. Do not wipe our lenses with anything other than a super soft and wet tissue or cloth. This product is for refinishing motorcycle windshields - which are clear plastic. Helmet visors too.

I thought I was the only person who had this problem...well, it was in my old TL. It looks really bad at night when the light from the gauges shines through...then the scratches stand out real bad.

I made a huge scratch on my gauge, not no small swirls...looks ugly! Thanks for the tip on how to fix it.

I learned my lesson from my other car....now I just use the california duster on all those lenses to get the dust off. If it's smeared or dirty, I use a miracle towel on it which is super soft and won't scratch.
